Ashley 's Story

Ashley has a passion for seeing young women find their true identities in who God created them to be. Her desire is to empower women to take the broken pieces of their life, and allow God to shape them into new beginnings. God is our potter and we are the clay. Nothing is wasted. It's time we start to see beautiful again through the "dust" of our lives.

This passion comes from her own experience of struggling with mental health, broken relationships, and healing from a childhood of emotional abuse.

Ashley has a bachelor's degree in Social Work and a master's degree in Pastoral Care and Counseling. That is where she discovered her love for life coaching and officially launched Alabaster Life Coaching in April 2023. She became certified in Christian Life Coaching in January 2024 through NowBloom Academy.

Ashley and her husband, Trevor, currently reside in San Diego, CA with their two puppies and soon to be baby boy. Trevor and Ashley both have a history of serving in youth ministries for many years. Their desire is to return to youth ministry, but for the next few years, God has brought them into the military life.

Ashley can often be found laying at home with her husband and pups, grabbing coffee with a friend, or sitting outside with a good book. Outside of being a Christian Life Coach, Ashley is the founder of Refuge for the Broken, a nonprofit organization that raises awareness for domestic violence within the Church.

  • How is life coaching different from therapy?
Therapy and life coaching are both needed depending on where you are at in your life. Therapy conducts deep work to address past trauma or experiences. Life coaching will look at your past if it is affecting you currently and is an obstacle for where you want to go. Life coaching is a great tool for looking at where you are now, where you want to go, and then helping you get there. I am not a therapist, psychotherapist, psychologist, or counsellor. I am a Christian Life Coach and all information provided is biblically based. I am unqualified to help with severe mental health issues. If you are seeking therapy you can search for a therapist in your area at: www.psychologytoday.com or through searching therapy in your location. If you’re experiencing a mental health crisis call The National Suicide Line at 988.
  • What does your life coaching process look like?
Each coaching session is completely different as it caters to the individual and whether it is a single session or one of the packages. We will begin each session by praying that the Lord would guide the session to where He wants it to go. I will ask you where you want to begin - whether it's continuing to discuss your reason for coaching, or talking about what's on your heart that day. We will work on addressing any obstacles that are preventing you from reaching the goals that we set together at the beginning of our time. If there is something you want to achieve, we can work on that. If there is a challenge you are facing, we can work on that. Each session is ultimately where you want to go with it! This is a collaborative relationship. I will challenge you and provide you with resources, activities, and Scripture that apply to what we are discussing. However, at the end of the day, you must put in the work to see the change you want to achieve. We will do it together!
  • What makes you different from other coaches?
While there are so many great life coaches available today, all of my coaching techniques fall on the foundation of God's Word. Scripture is the basis for all of our conversations, resources, and discussion. I believe we can truly experience transformation when we allow God to reshape the broken parts of our lives that we deem impossible. I like to use certain activities and ask questions to dive deeper into who you are and what your thought processes are like. This helps us look at why certain things may be a stressor or obstacle for you. I also like to touch on anything from your past that may be the root of the problem preventing you from moving forward. Through my educational background in Social Work and Pastoral Care & Counseling, as well as my certification in Christian Life Coaching, I've studied human behavior, how to address obstacles to move forward towards our goals, and using prayer to help break strongholds. At the end of the day, I want to be a friend that's here to challenge you, push you, and hold you accountable while also listening to you as you vent or being the shoulder you need to cry on.
  • Do I have to live near you to be a client?
Not at all! I conduct all my coaching online either by phone call or video chat via Google Meet. Whatever you prefer. You do not have to live near me to be coached by me. Just have a phone or laptop with reliable wifi!
  • Is life coaching worth it?
If you are looking to build healthier habits when it comes to your walk with Jesus, your emotional and mental health, your relationships, and any other area of life - then life coaching would be the perfect fit for you. If you want to see physical, realistic, and achievable change in your life - you need to put in the work. I can offer you all the knowledge I have gained from trainings, education, life experiences, and research. Life coaches put in the work to ensure you are getting the help you need!
